Georgina Pounds Gallery is a new art gallery that opened in February 2026 in Roma Norte, Mexico City.  The Universe of Sofía Bassi brings together over 40 paintings and drawings by the Surrealist Mexican painter Sofía Bassi. Presented in the historic 1911 gallery space of Georgina Pounds Gallery in Roma Norte, Mexico City, the exhibition is the largest presentation of Bassi’s work to date. 

 

Our second exhibition, Kati Horna and her friends, brings together photographs that tell the stories and relationships within Kati Horna’s close circle, including artists Leonora Carrington, Gunther Gerzso, Mathias Goeritz and Remedios Varo. The exhibition focuses on portraiture and fantastical photographic narratives, documenting the community of Surrealists and architects who surrounded Horna throughout her life, as well as those whose influence continues to resonate with artists today.
